Local Yarn Store day was created by The National Needlearts Association
to celebrate the brick-and-mortar yarn stores that so tirelessly support
our yarn habits, teach new and interesting techniques, and continue
to inspire our community with color, texture, and wonderful projects.
This year’s LYS day will take place on Saturday, April 27 and is
designed to show support for small businesses while bringing together
a unique community of knitters, crocheters, weavers and spinners to
drive awareness and celebrate the craft. We encourage you to visit your
local LYS, thank them for supporting your community with a wonderful
variety of yarns and classes.
Many yarn companies, designers, and shops are releasing new products,
patterns, and even hosting special events on this day. Trendsetter Yarns
has released an entirely new yarn for this year’s LYS Day, Merino Eclipse.
This 100% merino wool yarn comes in a 200 gram pull-skein with a generous
550 yards. We recommend working this new DK weight on a size 6 U.S.
needle.
We have released six exciting new colors in this yarn,
click here to see all the colors,
and seven wonderful patterns, which can all be seen here. Below you
will find a list of stores that are carrying all six colors and patterns
for this yarn. Please visit your LYS on this day to show your support,
and if you can, make a purchase (big or small).
